Martinez from the 15-day disabled list Monday after a month-long absence.
Martinez broke his left thumb during a June 27 game against the Giants when a
foul tip grazed his glove. He has been sidelined ever since, though the injury

The backstop, who was acquired from Cleveland at last year's trade deadline,
is hitting .289 with nine homers and 38 runs batted in this season for the Red
Sox.

Monday.
